About the Event
The 2nd Chance Job & Resource Fair is more than an employment event — a community effort focused on opportunity, restoration, and helping people move forward.
Our Mission
Community Missionary Baptist Church holds the 2nd Chance Job & Resource Fair annually, partnering with background-friendly employers and resource providers from the Dallas southern sector and throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
The event's aim is to reduce recidivism rates and offer redemption for those bound by past mistakes. Pastor Oscar D. Epps believes that criminal convictions unfairly limit returning citizens' employment options — creating a burden not just on families, but on the entire economy.
This event is about restoring the whole person — ensuring anyone who attends leaves fully equipped to move forward productively in society.
The Economic Reality
"It's harder to pay taxes, further their education, feed and house their families, and function as law-abiding citizens. Legal restrictions on employment end up costing the United States economy $65 billion in economic output."
— Pastor Oscar D. Epps, Sr.

A Word From Our Pastor
Pastor Oscar D. Epps, Sr. founded the 2nd Chance Job & Resource Fair out of a conviction that the church's role extends beyond the sanctuary — into the community and into the lives of those who need restoration.
"It's very important that people are given another opportunity. Sometimes that's all someone needs — another chance, especially when they have fallen in life. 2nd Chance provides an opportunity to help someone get up, get established on their feet, and be able to move forward and be productive again in society."
The event is held annually and grows each year — in partnerships, resources, and lives changed.
